Treasures: Near & Far

“My child, you must follow and treasure my teachings and my instructions.  Keep in tune with wisdom and think what it means to have common sense.  Beg as loudly as you can for common sense.  Search for wisdom as you would search for silver or hidden treasure. Then you will understand what it means to respect and to know the LORD God.

Proverbs 2: 1-5 CEV

Discovery is the act of opening a hidden treasure chest and finding that much sought after treasure cache.  When we lift the lid, we find beauty in our surroundings, appreciation for our past, discernment for the things that really matter, and assurance in our inheritance.  God’s Word declares that if we seek Him, we shall find Him (Deut. 4:29).   This year, as we search for those priceless gems, we shall see Jesus!
