This is my second year at RVAA. I have served 3 years as Head Boys' Dean and Basketball Coach at Cedar Lake Academy in Michigan. I also spent a year at Milo as Head Boys' Dean and Basketball Coach and 5 years at Walla Walla University in the Physical Education Dept., followed by 6 years as Basketball Coach at Whitman College.
I graduated from High school in 1971 from Orange High School in Orange California, and in 1978 began attending Walla Walla College where I graduated with a BS in Physical Education, and a Minor in Religion.
My favorite food is Mexican and just recently Thai food. And Snickers candy bar too. But first and foremost is Starbucks' White Chocolate Mocha! Jalapenos on any food is definitely a plus.
My favorite thing to do in my spare time is to work on my classic cars. I have a 66 Pontiac GTO and a 62 Nova SS. I have just started restoring a 53 Ford PU. Oh by the way, I cannot forget about my wife's 1970 Chevelle. I enjoy Coaching Basketball and helping our young people get ready for the challenges of life.
What draws me to RVAA is the students and their love for Jesus Christ. Compared to all the schools I have worked at, RVAA students are different; they are not afraid to show their love in how they stand up for Jesus. A lot of this comes from a strong support from parents and strong Christian leadership from the faculty.
Favorite Bible text is 1 Peter 5:6 Therefore humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, That He may exalt you in due time, casting all your cares upon Him for he cares for you.
